Questions We Hear
Every Single Day.
Clear, honest answers to everything you've wondered about oral care, our products, and how to get the most out of them.
Our Products
Everything you need to know about what Rinse-It makes, what it does, and what makes it different.
Rinse-It currently offers six products across three categories — all designed to work together as a complete oral care system.
Mouthwash: Peach Flavored (₹380) and Cranberry Flavored (₹400). Mouth Gel for Kids: Strawberry Flavored (₹300) and Chocolate Flavored (₹320). Toothpaste: Whitening (₹800) and Antioxidant (₹560).
Each product is formulated independently to address a specific oral health need — but they're designed to complement each other beautifully when used as part of a routine.
→ View All ProductsThey address different dimensions of tooth health, and many of our customers use both — alternating throughout the week.
The Whitening Toothpaste works on surface stains — the discolouration from tea, coffee, and food — progressively polishing enamel to reveal a brighter, cleaner appearance. It's designed to work gently over time rather than aggressively all at once.
The Antioxidant Toothpaste goes deeper. It supports enamel remineralisation and neutralises oxidative damage at the cellular level — the kind of invisible wear that makes teeth more fragile and sensitive over time. If you have sensitivity, or you drink a lot of acidic beverages, the Antioxidant formula is the one doing the protective work.
Honestly, both are formulated to the same standard of efficacy — the choice largely comes down to taste preference and, to some extent, your primary oral concern.
The Peach Mouthwash has a lighter, softer flavour profile that many customers with sensitive gums or a lower tolerance for strong tastes prefer. It's particularly popular among those managing gum inflammation or recession.
The Cranberry Mouthwash is slightly more assertive in flavour, and the natural cranberry actives in its formulation have an additional benefit — they inhibit bacterial adhesion to oral surfaces, making it especially effective for those dealing with persistent bad breath or high plaque accumulation.
If you're unsure, start with the Peach. If you want maximum antibacterial support, go with Cranberry.
All Rinse-It products are formulated with safety and efficacy at the centre of the process. Our products comply with applicable Indian regulatory standards for oral care products under CDSCO guidelines.
We are also transparent about everything that goes into our formulations — ingredients are clearly listed on each product, and our team is available to answer specific questions about any component if you have sensitivities or allergies.
Yes. All Rinse-It products are 100% vegetarian. We do not use any animal-derived ingredients in our formulations, and our manufacturing process does not involve animal testing at any stage.
For customers following a strictly vegan lifestyle, please reach out to us directly at the contact page and we'll confirm the vegan status of any specific product variant you're considering.
We're actively working on expanding the range. While we can't share specific timelines just yet, new formats and variants are in development — including options aimed at specific oral concerns that our current customers have written to us about.
The best way to stay ahead of new launches is to follow us on Instagram or get in touch with your email address so we can notify you directly when something new drops.
How To Use
Getting the full benefit from Rinse-It is about more than opening the cap. Here's the right way.
This is one of the most genuinely debated questions in oral hygiene — and the honest answer is that there's good evidence on both sides. Here's what we recommend for Rinse-It products specifically.
After brushing is our preferred sequence. Brushing first removes plaque mechanically, and rinsing immediately after allows the active compounds in our mouthwash to work on a cleaner surface — with no toothpaste residue interfering. After rinsing, don't eat or drink for 20–30 minutes to let the formulation do its work.
Some dental professionals advocate rinsing before brushing to loosen plaque. Either approach works. Consistency matters more than sequence.
About 15–20 ml per use — roughly one capful if you're using the product cap as a measuring cup. This is enough to fully coat the oral cavity, reach the back of the throat, and work between teeth when swished actively.
Swish vigorously for at least 30 seconds, making sure the liquid reaches every surface — including the tongue, inner cheeks, and the back of the mouth. Spit out completely. Do not dilute with water before or after.
Using significantly more than 20 ml doesn't increase effectiveness — it just empties the bottle faster. The formulation is calibrated for this volume.
Absolutely — and this is the combination we recommend most. They're designed to complement each other. The toothpaste handles mechanical cleaning and enamel support, while the mouthwash reaches the areas no brush can — the tongue, gumline pockets, and back of the throat.
Together, they cover every surface of your oral cavity. Used consistently twice a day, the combined routine typically shows visible improvement in gum health and breath freshness within 3–4 weeks.
It depends on what you're addressing — and the honesty here matters.
Bad breath: Most people notice improvement within the first 2–3 days of consistent use. The mouthwash gets to work on the bacterial colonies responsible almost immediately.
Gum health: Reduced bleeding and sensitivity typically shows within 2–3 weeks of twice-daily use. Significant tissue improvement is visible by the 6-week mark.
Whitening: Surface stain reduction is gradual — expect noticeable improvement after 4–6 weeks. This is intentional; our formula doesn't compromise enamel in the pursuit of rapid results.
Oral care is cumulative. The results you build over 60 days last far longer than anything aggressive and fast-acting.
Twice daily — morning and night — is the recommended and sufficient frequency for our mouthwash and toothpaste. More frequent use doesn't meaningfully increase efficacy and can, in some cases, disrupt the oral pH balance your mouth naturally maintains.
If you have a meal that leaves a particularly strong taste or you feel a fresh rinse would be beneficial, plain water is always a good in-between solution. Save the Rinse-It products for your morning and nighttime routine — that's where they do their best work.
Ingredients & Safety
What goes into Rinse-It — and why every choice was deliberate.
No. Our mouthwashes are alcohol-free — and this was a deliberate formulation choice, not an oversight. Alcohol in mouthwash is primarily a preservative and sensory signal (the burning sensation that many people associate with "working"). The clinical evidence for alcohol adding antibacterial value is not strong enough to justify its downsides.
Alcohol dries out the oral mucosa, reduces saliva production, and can exacerbate sensitivity in people with existing gum or enamel issues. Our formulation achieves its antibacterial and freshness goals through active compounds that don't compromise oral comfort in the process.
We aim to keep our formulations clean and purposeful. We do not use artificial colours in any of our products. Every ingredient in a Rinse-It product is there because it contributes a specific functional benefit — nothing is added merely for appearance or to inflate the ingredient list.
Our mouthwashes and gels use food-grade flavouring derived from natural sources (real peach, real cranberry, real strawberry, real chocolate extracts) rather than synthetic fragrance compounds.
If you have a specific allergy or sensitivity you're concerned about, reach out to us with the ingredient in question — we'll give you a straight answer.
Please refer to the ingredient list on the product packaging for the most precise, current information on each toothpaste variant. If you have specific concerns about fluoride content — whether you're looking for a fluoride formula or a fluoride-free option — please contact us directly and we'll point you to the right product for your needs.
Our products are formulated for general adult use and do not contain ingredients that are known to be contraindicated during pregnancy. Oral health is particularly important during pregnancy — hormonal changes significantly increase the risk of gum inflammation (pregnancy gingivitis), and neglecting oral care during this period can have real consequences.
That said, we always recommend consulting your gynaecologist or dentist before introducing any new oral care products during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. They're best placed to advise based on your complete health profile. We're also happy to share our complete ingredient list on request so your doctor can review it.
Stop using the product immediately and rinse your mouth thoroughly with plain water. If symptoms are severe — significant swelling, difficulty breathing, or widespread skin reaction — please seek medical attention without delay.
Once you are safe, please reach out to us through the Contact page with details of what happened. We take all such reports seriously and will share our complete ingredient list so you and your doctor can identify the potential trigger. Your safety matters far more to us than anything else.
For Kids
Your child's first relationship with oral care shapes everything. Here's how to get it right.
The Rinse-It Mouth Gels — both Strawberry and Chocolate variants — are suitable for children aged 3 years and above. At this age, most children have their full set of primary (milk) teeth and are developing the coordination to participate in brushing.
For children under 3, please consult a paediatric dentist before introducing any gel or toothpaste product. And always supervise children during brushing to ensure they spit out the gel rather than swallowing it.
We don't recommend using adult mouthwash for children under 12. The formulations and concentrations in adult rinses are designed for a fully developed adult oral cavity. Children's gum tissue is softer, more permeable, and their swallowing reflex control is still developing — all of which make dedicated children's products the safer and more appropriate choice.
The adult toothpastes may be suitable for older children (10+) under supervision, but the Mouth Gel is specifically calibrated for younger children's enamel and taste sensitivity — and honestly, they just like it much more.
→ Strawberry Mouth Gel → Chocolate Mouth GelThis is one of the most common things parents write to us about — and yes, it genuinely helps. A significant share of children's resistance to brushing comes from the taste of adult-formulated products. Mint is a dominant, often overwhelming sensation for small children.
When the product tastes like something they enjoy — strawberry, chocolate — the psychological resistance dissolves. Dozens of parents have told us that switching to the Rinse-It Mouth Gel turned brushing from a battle into something their child actually asks for. That's not marketing language; that's what the feedback says.
A very small, incidental amount is not a cause for alarm — and this is something we factored into the formulation. The Mouth Gels do not contain ingredients that are acutely toxic in the trace amounts a child might accidentally ingest while learning to spit.
However, the gel is not meant to be eaten, and regular intentional swallowing should be avoided. Teach your child the "spit it out" habit from the start — frame it as a game if needed. If you believe a significant quantity was swallowed, contact your paediatrician.

Oral Health Guidance
Questions we hear from people who genuinely care about getting this right. Answered without shortcuts.
Frequency isn't the only variable that matters. Technique, timing, and what you do between brushes all play a significant role.
Technique: Most people brush too hard and too fast. Two minutes of proper brushing — angled bristles at 45° toward the gumline, gentle circular motions — is dramatically more effective than 60 seconds of vigorous scrubbing.
Timing: Brushing immediately after acidic food or drink (citrus, coffee, soda) can actually accelerate enamel erosion because the acid has softened the surface. Wait 30 minutes after consumption before brushing.
Between brushes: If you're snacking frequently on sugary or starchy foods, the bacterial activity producing acid in your mouth is constant. No amount of brushing fully compensates for this.
Occasional bleeding when brushing is very common — and it's almost always a sign of early gum inflammation (gingivitis) rather than an injury from brushing. The common instinct is to brush more gently to avoid the bleeding; paradoxically, consistent, thorough cleaning is what resolves it.
Gingivitis at this stage is entirely reversible. It responds to improved oral hygiene within 2–3 weeks. If bleeding is heavy, frequent, or happens spontaneously (without any brushing contact), that warrants a visit to a dentist — it could indicate more advanced gum disease or, in rare cases, other health factors.
A good antibacterial mouthwash used consistently is one of the most effective interventions at the gingivitis stage — it reaches the gumline pockets where the bacteria causing the inflammation live.
More important than most people realise — and skipping it is one of the most common reasons people brush regularly and still have bad breath. The tongue's surface is not smooth; it's a textured environment with thousands of small papillae that trap bacteria, dead cells, and food particles.
Research estimates that 50–80% of oral bacteria responsible for bad breath reside on the tongue — not on the teeth. Cleaning only the teeth while leaving the tongue untouched is like mopping the floor but leaving the dustbin open in the corner.
A daily tongue scrape followed by a thorough mouthwash rinse — which penetrates and disrupts bacterial colonies the scraper leaves behind — is the combination that actually addresses halitosis at its source.
No — and we'll be straight with you about this even though we make mouthwash. Rinsing is not a substitute for mechanical cleaning. The physical action of bristles on tooth surfaces is what removes plaque — the sticky bacterial biofilm that causes both cavities and gum disease. Mouthwash cannot dislodge plaque; it can only treat the surfaces it contacts.
That said, if circumstances mean you genuinely cannot brush — travel, early morning flight, a missed routine — a vigorous 30-second rinse is infinitely better than nothing. It reduces bacterial load, freshens breath, and maintains some antibacterial protection until you can brush properly.
Think of mouthwash as the complement, not the replacement. Both play irreplaceable roles.
The standard recommendation is every 6 months for a professional cleaning and check-up. For most people with generally good oral health, this is sufficient.
However, if you have active gum disease, a history of frequent cavities, diabetes, smoke, or are pregnant, your dentist may recommend every 3–4 months. People with orthodontic work (braces, retainers) also typically need more frequent professional attention.
In India, regular dental visits remain significantly underutilised — largely because people visit when there's pain rather than proactively. Pain is almost always a late signal. Catching a cavity at the small, early stage costs a fraction of what it costs to treat once it's reached the nerve. The 6-month check-up is one of the highest-return health investments there is.
